Ubuntu Booting... - Simple Animation in Gimp

In this tutorial i will teach you how to create simple animations in gimp (animating images are .gif images).  So we are going to create animation of 'Ubuntu Booting'.

So  let's begin with it:

Step 1: For this will require an image of 'Ubuntu Boot' so you can download it from here. Download. (Let the size of image be 1024x768). so it will look like this you will have just one layer now. Always save your work with .xcf. so you can rework on it anytime.

Step 2: Now create New Transparent Layer. On this layer we will create the 'Loading dots'. Select the New Layer. Select white as FG (Foreground) color. Select Paintbrush tool and select brush - circle(07). Give 5 white dots below the "ubuntu". Now make the background layer invisible by clicking on eye next to it.
so it looks like this, 5 white dots.

Step 3: Now we will duplicate this layer 23 times because if you see the in preview above, loading goes from left to right, and then again right to left. (You can use your own imagination .. and do according to it).
After duplication, Merge the layer above background by right clicking on it and select Merge down. So the background layer will also have now white dots. So finally we have a one background layer and other 22 transparent layers all with 5 white dots.

Step 4: Set the FG color to #b34a35. Now make all layers invisible except the background. Now select first layer make it visible. Select the Bucket fill tool and fill the first white dot with orange color. Now select next layer. Make it visible and fill 2 white dots with orange and so on... do with your own imagination.

Step 5: Now to create it's animation, select File>Save As. Save it with .gif. You will get a dialog box like this...

say Save As Animation. In the next dialog box set the delay to 400 ms. and OK....
and we are done!!

Just think creatively and Gimp It!!
